Is H.R. 5252 dead?

Well, things are moving fast now that the votes have been counted. According to Gerry Lederer, counsel to the Law Firm of Miller & Van Eaton:

[The Nov. 7, 2006] election probably marked the end of Bell company-sponsored national franchise legislation this year.  Net neutrality and buildout advocates will not allow HR 5252 to be moved.
